| SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 4870 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E |
 (English) |
May 5th, 2009 Editor's Choice Sapphire did a great job in the design as far as I'm concerned, because although it's not the prettiest card out there, it serves its function well, and that's to cool well enough to keep the card working well (overclocking included) while remaining as quiet as possible. I can honestly say that there is no comparison between this and the reference card where that's concerned. Although it will be tough to tell the difference if you're running a machine with numerous audible fans, it's when you slow the other fans down that you begin to really notice the difference. Whereas our reference HD 4870 was clearly distinguishable among all the other fans in our machine, Sapphire's Vapor-X has to have an intent ear to pick it out of the crowd. It does its job very well.

Apr 28th, 2009 Aurum(Gold Award) by HitechLegion The Sapphire PURE Innovation 780V is a nice little motherboard, and while the performance was decent, the possibilities of the Sapphire PURE Innovation 780V are great. The first thing that popped into my head was a slim HTPC for my bedroom. The possibilities include the ability to record and watch live TV, stream movies from the net, and save movies so I don't have to go looking for the DVD. But what had also occurred to me is, with the PCIe x16 slot and with the new Phenom II processors being compatible with the AM2+/AM2 socket, that this could make a nice LAN party system.

Apr 23rd, 2009 Driver Heaven Gold Award – Best In Class Award To begin with the card has an absolutely fantastic cooler, the passive solution is not only silent but it keeps the card’s temperatures at impressively low levels. Combined with the fact that the card has on board HDMI without the need for extra dongles makes it a brilliant candidate for HTPC uses. It will allow for casual gaming as well, even managing to perform well at 1920x1200 in some of the latest titles

Apr 23rd, 2009 Elite Bastards Innovation Award If you're looking to build a silent or near-silent system, then this card's passive cooling solution doesn't just fit the bill, but it also does so while maintaining temperatures lower than AMD's reference Radeon HD 4670 cooler. A great little piece of workmanship, it has to be said

Apr 23rd, 2009 Driver Heaven Recommended Award The 4670 is certainly a decent card for its price point, offering playable performance in some titles up to 1920x1200, even with anti aliasing enabled. In addition to strong mid-range performance, the card is packed with features such as UVD and 7.1 audio … this particular model even has an on board HDMI connector for your home theatre needs
